TIDES, written by playwright Kuldip Sondhi, is set in a coastal town in Kenya. It reveals the political games played in local government by a mayor, a team of councillors (some of whom appear as ghost workers!) and a go-getter business lady. The plot is spiced by a love story which weaves the whole story together.
It is a tale of citizens generating high tides which wash away all morals in pursuit of personal glory. Tides brings to the forefront that perhaps it isn1t necessarily the individual that is the most corrupt; but that the circumstances surrounding the political high tide which we call 'Elections' brings out the worst in us.
